Since iTunes came into being, most of the music lovers have adopted it as their prime media player. The main reason for this consumer shift is that iTunes is compatible with iPod MP3 player product line. Of course, iTunes is a great music player and one cannot say that he or she has been forced into using it because of its compatibility with the iPod. Yet there are some inherent problems in iTunes that need to be dealt with.

The most common problem occurs when you download music not from iTunes but from media sources. It is perhaps a compatibility issue, or an inherent problem in iTunes is that when you download such music, the information regarding these songs is either screwed up or missing altogether. You end up having downloaded a song that has no iTunes album art. When you activate the cover flow view in your iPod, the only thing you get to see in place of the relevant album artwork, is a blank gray space. This problem will get bigger and bigger as you download more and more songs into your iPod. When you scroll through your music collection, you will see lots and lots of gray spaces and fewer fancy album artwork.

The best and the most convenient way of getting rid of this problem is to make a commitment to yourself that you are not going to download mp3s from any sources other than iTunes stores. This is, of course, not possible. The next thing you can do is set about searching for each and every missing iTunes album artwork on the internet manually. Again, this is a tedious task and involves a lot of time and patience. You can assume that the exercise is almost impossible if your song collection numbers in several thousands.

This is when you realize that you need a software application in order to fix your iTunes album art problems. The software should not only take care of iTunes album art issues. It must also fix other problems in your iTunes library like removing duplicate tracks from your collection and rectifying misspelled and mislabeled song and artist names.

TidySongs is one such software. It was created a few years ago by the company Cloudbrain. The main purpose of creating this software was to help music enthusiasts clean up and organize their iTunes libraries. Over the years, TidySongs have made many improvements and is now the most sought after application of all iTunes users.

TidySongs works in very simple and easy-to-follow steps. It needs very minimal input from you. Once you have selected the songs whose iTunes album art you need to fix, the software starts working on its own. It can find at least four cover artwork for each of your songs from which you can choose the best one. After you have made your selection, the software automatically links the artwork to your song. The next time you play the same song, you can see the artwork instead of that gray blank in color flow mode.
