**Attention Former TidySongs Customers!**
After the program’s incredible success it has recently been acquired by RealNetworks. Read our updated review of the similar program now called Rinse for iTunes.

Welcome to our newly introduced review of Rinse iTunes. Most of the stuff you will find out there is basically just a blatant advertisement of the program as opposed to an actual review.
This confusion occurs because Rinse happens to be a product that was once called Tidysongs. Now this doesn’t mean that there is anything wrong with the program or it is some sort of scam, it just means that there were thousands of people trying to push the program for a commission. The result of this is tons of inaccurate information coming up when looking for a review.
There is all kinds of weird stuff going on, mainly people reviewing the program and not providing an honest perspective. For the purpose of this TidySongs(Rinse) review I made sure to download the free trial version and get a quick feel for the program.
Upon visiting the site the Rinsemymusic.com homepage you will find a link to download the free trial version and be on your way. I would highly recommend downloading the free trial if you are skeptical of the programs effectiveness. Its a great way put the program to the true test by throwing some obscure songs at it.
Required System Specifications for Rinse:
Mac OS
Windows XP
Windows Vista
Windows 7
They have covered all the bases with TidySongs(Rinse) making it compatible with all operating systems. Once you begin the download process you will find it only takes a few minutes depending on your internet and computer speed. Also remember this when actually using the program because Rinse requires an Internet connection to clean up your songs. Preferably you will want to be by a speedy connection that will allow the software to perform optimally.
So the first step is to download a copy of Rinse(the same goes for the free trial version) and initiate the install process. You will find this process to be relatively quick and simple, and should have the program running in about 5 minutes. Now it will depend on your iTunes cleanup needs as to which way you will go from here.
So you’re probably wondering…
How does Rinse actually cleanse your iTunes?
Well basically the Adobe air applcation works by scanning the first few seconds of each one of your songs and returns the appropriate missing or incorrect meta information. The software takes a snippet of the song and references the sound bye with a database to restore it back to order. In a matter of minutes you can bring your music library back to complete organization.
Here’s a quick list of the main features provided with Rinse:
*Fix messed up song names
*Delete duplicate songs
*Get missing album art
*Organize genres
Find Song Info In iTunes
I started by fixing my messed up song names. Before downloading the program I had all kinds of messed up song names. Things like “track 01”, “unknown”, “unknown track”, and all kinds of other crazy things were going on with my song names. Honestly this was starting to drive me nuts and it always seemed like the songs I wanted to listen to the most would have a missing name.
Basically you tell Rinse to cleanup your songs and it will automatically run through your songs and fill in the correct info. The technical term for this info is id3 tags. These id3 tags commonly get messed up when you import songs into iTunes from other media players. Usually songs downloaded from places other than iTunes will have compatibility issues when imported. I think its sort of a way that Apple can try to place control on illegal downloads.
Get Album Artwork in iTunes
One of my favorite features that Rinse has to offer is the album art feature. The program acts as an automatic album art importer so you can fill in your missing albums. Blank album covers are a thing of the past once you get your copy of the app working on your music.
I can’t even explain how frustrated I was when I first put my iPod Touch into cover flow view and saw about ¾ blank albums. The cover flow view is like the coolest feature of the iPod and you really can’t enjoy it when your albums are all blank.
Delete Duplicate Songs
The great thing about Rinse is it comes with a built in feature for deleting duplicate songs. This is actually the only cleanup program available with this unique feature. With the user interface you can set specific parameters for deleting duplicates such as length and quality of songs.
Before I used the program I had an incredible amount of duplicate songs that would have taken me an eternity to delete by hand. With this feature you have the option to delete duplicates automatically after setting your own specific criteria. You can select the option of deleting dupes by song length or sound quality. Its usually a safe bet to just go with song length for the criteria but sometimes this can screw you over.
Let’s say you have two duplicate songs, one song at 3:52 and the other at 3:55. The 3 second difference could wind up being just silence at the end of the song making it not the best way to decide on which song to keep. In this situation I will pick the song with the best sound quality which Rinse allows me to easily do.
The Bottom Line
Rinse iTunes is a fantastic program when it comes to cleaning up your iTunes library. They have engineered a program to our specific needs as iTunes music listeners. Let’s face it, iTunes isn’t going to make things easier for us any time soon. So if you are experiencing these common iTunes organization issues, you should really think about giving the program a try. I just went with the free trial in the beginning to make sure the program is actually legit and I would highly recommend you do the same.
Rinse(Tidysongs) really excels in the area of duplicate songs and genre organization. Compared to the other programs on the market, after our Rinse iTunes Review we have definitely shown it to be the best tool for the job. So save yourself the trouble, I’m sure you’ve already spent more time than you should on this problem. A cleanup tool is quick and painless, it gets the job done right. It just requires a few minutes of your time to get up and running and than your good to go from there. We hope you enjoyed our Rinse review and decide to download the free trial version below. Good Luck!
